Tonight I finally tested my Mind Journal app from the very beginning to the end — from the launch screen all the way through Step 6 and into the result and recommendation pages.
At first, I was nervous because I had just made some changes to the field names in the backend, like changing “stress” to “reason” and “sleep” to “appetite.” I wasn’t sure if I had updated everything correctly across all the steps. But I took a deep breath and launched the app.
I tapped the Start button and answered the first question:
“How are you feeling today?” I chose 🙂 (Happy).
Then I selected the reason: 💬 Social Media, just for example!!
I answered “Did you sleep well?” with “Yes,” which matched just for testing.
For the kind of support I needed, I selected “I need to calm down.”
Then I chose to “Skip this” as the thing I wanted to focus on.
Finally, for appetite, I picked “Normal”
When I pressed Complete, the result screen showed up correctly.
It summarized all my answers clearly, and I felt like the app really understood how I was doing that day. I tapped “See Recommendations” and the personalized suggestions based on my responses showed up just as I had planned. This was the first time I experienced the full user flow of the app I’ve been designing for months. It actually worked. That’s still hard to believe. Of course, I found a few little things to polish later – spacing, button alignment, maybe improve the result message tone, but functionally? It works. The data passed through all the steps, no crashes, and I could read the results.
It feels like such a small moment to anyone else. But to me, tonight was the moment Mind Journal came to life for real.
